ABOUT ME
I’m Jaya, Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults on their journey toward emotional wellbeing and personal growth. My curiosity about how people feel, think, and connect led me into psychology, and my practice is built on empathy, respect, and a non-judgmental approach.
I’ve worked in both public mental health settings and private practice, giving me a broad perspective and the skills to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. I’m passionate about helping clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and am committed to creating a neurodiversity-affirming space.
I’m bilingual in Hindi and Punjabi and integrate a range of therapeutic approaches—including CBT, ACT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness—to tailor support to your unique needs. Whether you’re working through trauma, navigating life transitions, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence and clarity.
Compassion
Compassion is at the heart of my practice. I believe true healing begins in a safe and caring environment where you feel genuinely heard and valued. I approach each session with empathy, patience, and respect, creating space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. My goal is to support you with kindness and understanding as you navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful change.
Collaboration
I view therapy as a partnership where we work together to explore your challenges and goals. Your insights, experiences, and strengths guide our sessions, and I’m here to provide professional support and evidence-based strategies. By collaborating, we create a personalised path forward, ensuring you feel empowered and involved in every step of your healing and growth.
Evidence-Based Care
I’m committed to providing therapy grounded in proven, research-backed methods. Drawing from approaches like CBT, ACT, EMDR, and mindfulness, I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. Using evidence-based care means you can trust that the strategies we use are effective and designed to help you achieve real, lasting change.
Cultural Sensitivity
I deeply respect the diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, and experiences of my clients. I strive to create a safe, inclusive environment where you feel understood and valued. By offering therapy in Hindi and Punjabi, and being mindful of cultural beliefs and practices, I ensure our work together honours who you are and the context of your life.
